Fjodor said: I was 13 when I bought "Upstair's at Eric's" in my smalltown's record shop in Bavaria. Then it was a revelation for me, musically and existentially. Who would have ever thought that 26 years later I would hear exactly those songs live in Berlin, travelling in time with Alsion Moyet and Vince Clarke in their Neo-80s minimal steel and light stage set?! These songs are still worth what they were back in 82/83 and luckily for the concert they were not polished up to the taste of 2008. The moment Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke entered the stage, I and the audience were bewitched. Yes, it's true, Yazoo are alive. The hall was instantly singing along with the opener "Nobody's Diary". Any of those powerful moments in Alsion's singing just made my heart lift, gained an enthousiastic applause from the crowd even during the songs, any of those great lines like "The walls are white and in the night the room is lit by electric light" or "I close my eyes and with such sweet surprise I can be anywhere, i can be anyone" make you shiver. Alison dominated the show, so warmly and with little effort, her powerful voice, her charming smiles, her sudden and scarce dance parts, she did not have to do much. A bit more than Vince though, smartly standing on the other side of the stage silently steering his machines. It was a magic evening. I do not need to go again, I do not need any fotos, I will never forget. I am happy I went!
